About Kate


Kate is the daughter of Tom and Evelyn Blalock, who reside in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. She graduated from McKinley Senior High School in 2003 and is currently a Junior in Biological Sciences at LSU. Planning to make biological research her career, Kate works as a student research assistant at Pennington Biomedical Research Center (two years in cancer research, but now in stem cell research). Kate plans to complete her degree in May 2007. She is a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority and Silver Wings service organization. Kate has a younger brother, Brad.

Kate's passions (other than Jason, of course!) include dance and travel. She greatly enjoyed her experiences traveling to Russia twice -- first serving as a U.S. State Department student ambassador and then returning to visit with friends. She also enjoyed traveling throughout Australia during a short-term exchange. Kate danced competitively for ten years but no longer participates in a show company. Rhythm tap and jazz are her favorites.
